YPF................Kureyon

I have always been fascinated by the colours in this yarn. These are 2 of my favourite colours, 92 and 97. The fact that it looks like 4 different colours is the main attraction for me. The downside? Itchy wool, if this was as soft as some other wools I would knit with it all the time. :)

Slow progress................

The back is done and the left side started, Ive put the MS3 stole to one side for now as I want to make inroads into the 2 large garments I have started first. I feel no pressure to do the stole but I do to finish my July socks and these other knits. :)

I had to take my youngest little trooper to outpatients for a Doctor's appointment on Tuesday for allergy testing. My little angel had 30 skin (prick) tests and a blood sample taken. He was fantastic throughout. He's probably allergic to Egg Yolk, Dog, Nuts and ??? we await the final results of the blood test. Thankfully he has never needed adrenaline, only piriton and we are led to believe will be unlikely to do so now. Small mercies, he should grow out of these. :)

July's Sock-a-Month sock, one down........

This is knitted in Posh Yarns Emily. I first knitted a picot edging, thinking I would do Monkeys but then just knitted a slouch style pattern as these are almost certainly for a Christmas present. The recipient will probably use them as house socks, hence the slouch style. :) Now to get cracking with the next one so I finish my July pair for Sock-a-Month. :)

Thank you Jo (JK Rowling)

I finished this a few minutes ago and am just delighted with the ending of a fantastic series. I was worried after the different style of book 6 as to whether I would enjoy this book like I had the first 5 books. It didn't dissapoint me in any shape size or form. I cried, shouted and laughed while reading it, just as I had in the other books. :)

Thank you Jo :D

Dublin knitting

I had a lovely time in Dublin, with weather permitting!! Rain, rain and more rain!!! But rain does equal more knitting time, between entertaining 2 children :) I took something new with me. Ribs were calling to me, or was it the Cashmerino? So I started my Debbie Bliss Rib and Cable Cardigan. With the weather I may get more wear earlier than should be expected. I'm now on the straight section above the armhole decreases.

Progress picture.

Closeup of the Rib and Cable Detail. If you look closely (6th cable from left)you will see a little correction where I brought the cable forward instead of back and corrected it without frogging the whole few lines as kindly demonstrated on Spastic Shepherd Knits blog. :D

Holiday knit finished.............

I adapted the edging from plain stocking stitch to twisted edging (inspired by Rowan's Tulip). :) I just need to weave in all the loose threads now. Onto the next project. :)

BookMark Swap Bonanza

I received this beautiful clever Bookmark in a swap on CraftyThreadsnYarn forum. It was sent by the blogless Carolinne, isn't she very clever. :)

This is the English translation of the first bit of the Elvish quote by Gilraen " Onen i-Estel Edain, U-chebin estel anim"

Gilraen sewn in on the other side.......

and when Gilraen is turned upside down my real life name Margaret is sewn too. Really clever isn't it. It is also very beautiful :)

Back from holidays in Wales

Can I first say that the Welsh people are fabulous. They are so friendly and welcoming, a credit to Croeso Cymru! We had a lovely holiday despite the considerable rainfall. Thank you Wales. :)

Knitting wise I didn't get a knitting stitch done on my Cable Down, I forgot the pattern! how sad am I. Instead I knitted as much of the Sirdar Bamboo top as possible. just to sew up and add the neck detail on that. I also finished DH Birthday socks.

Sorry about the picture quality, it was taken with my phone. :)
