Another finished knit and book

This book arrived today.

I knitted this Crystal Palace bag as a present for an aunt. She's not into handbags but this is more of a shopper or beach bag. :)

Well my Posh Yarns order from last week arrived today. Also in the post was a much coveted Book Knitting Nature by Norah Gaughan. I would love to knit almost everything in this book. I'll try some of it, eventurally. :)

How Is Your Inner Child?

Your Inner Child Is Naughty

Like a child, you tend to discount social rules.
It's just too much fun to break the rules!
You love trouble - and it seems that trouble loves you.
And no matter what, you refuse to grow up!

Another Cashmerino scarf

In case I've been hiding this, I love knitting with Cashmerino. I knitted this for a BiL for Christmas. The end pieces are black/silver moss stitch with Stocking stitch to wrap around the neck for softness. Again I grafted two pieces together, as if I hadn't enough to do ;) :)

RYC Lux scarf

I was using this pattern to knit a scarf for my sister's birthday on the 22nd. I wasn't sure if I would finish in time. I didn't use beads as she would hate that. Unfortunately without the beads the stocking stitch curled too much to make it wearable so I turned it inside out, and hemmed it. I also knitted the scarf in two pieces and grafted the two ends, so that the lace ends were identical. It's not quite what I was hoping for but it is a nice soft scarf. I'll stick to easier patterns in future though.

I succumbed to Kerrie's Aran Silk Sale at HipKnits. I bought 400grams of Surf for a Clapotis for my Aunt and 200grams of Lipstick for another project from Yarnforward magazine. :)

Grafting!!!!!

I've unsucessfuly tried 4 times tonight to graft another scarf which is ready, but for this. Each time I keep getting interrupted and then a mistake happens...........I'll do something else instead but oh the frustration!

Finished without grafting.

I finished this last night and it was fine without grafting. It's for my lovely baby minder for christmas.

Some more Posh Candle Flame Scarf

I knitted some more of this scarf, I intend to try decreasing this time rather than grafting it.

I also ordered some more Posh Yarns in the OOW sale. Some more Eva (colour-tranquil) and Sophia (colour-hussy) (pure cashmere). I have something in mind for my sister for the tranquil/Eva. :)

Another finished knit

I had knit this ages ago with SWTC Karaoke Bloom. I bought it in the clearout sale at Stash Yarns. It isn't as soft as Karaoke Mermaid, strangely, when knitted but the pompoms are very soft. I was originally going to knit i-cord circles to decorate the ends but I was short for time and also thought the pompoms would be softer. They are. I made the pompoms last night and sewed them on this evening. Voila!

Posh Yarn's Eva Candle Flame Scarf

This used one skein of 12 ply Eva (a cashmere/silk blend) from Posh Yarns to knit, so far. I have 4 skeins in total. It is like butter it is so soft.

More pics to follow.............

New Stash .........again!

I finally got my Rowan Soft Baby, the DK sub sent instead of it, and the Cashmerino Chunky I was waiting on. I also got some new books (Sensational knitted socks and Louisa Harding's Hats, Gloves and Scarves) and georgeous new knitting needles and stitch markers. The sheep needles are for me and the cat needles for my big sister who loves knitting as much as I do and adores cats.

Sideways scarf for Nephew

I knitted this for a 14 year old nephew. I like the fashionable 'sideways' scarves in the shops now, but they are knitted in nasty acrylic. This is in Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Aran. It was one of the nicest/easiest scarves I have knitted recently. I hope he likes it.

Some detail.
