OOW stash

Posh Sophia in 'Provoke'

This is what I bought, it's all mine, for me and no-one else, so there. :)

A Piece of Beautiful colours!

I'm such a colour harlot..I'm not bold or brave enough to dye. Just as well with a 2 year old to help!

I found this little shop by accident. The colours are amazing. I want I want I want! The owner isn't just a sock knitter and dyer, she is an amazing photographer, and her blog is worth looking at, just for the pictures alone. :)

Bank that don't Rock!

I'm lucky I guess that I had all the problems logging on to Blue Moon Fiber Arts site. I only got to pay for the sock club on the 9th of January. Earlier payees had a harder time, as did The Blue Moon Team, read here.

Not much knitting here today, my 'baby' is sick. So just a quick post while he sleeps. :)

De-lurking week!

I discovered here that it's annual de-lurking week. So please post a comment or even a ~wave~ would be great :)

I'm a bit further along with the Clapotis, maybe 2 thirds along, I've almost 300 grams of silk used up so far. Maybe pics tomorrow or over the weekend if I get alot more done.

Wow it slipped past me in a blur!

Where did those holidays go to? I never got started on my socks yet, for many reasons. Firstly my 2nd circular needles haven't arrived. I got one in each size I wanted in 60 cm but have to wait for the same sizes in 40 cm. Secondly, I never seemed to have enough free time this holiday. Work, family, kids, house all got in the way. Ah well I'll wait on the needles and use that as my excuse. I've still to use my STR in Rockoctober which is wound into a big ball waiting for me to take the plunge.

I still can't access Blumoonfibersarts site here at home but was able to access it at work so at least I'll be able to sort the sock club sub out tomorrow.:)

This is what I've been working on since my aunt asked for a Clapotis for her birthday after seeing the one I knitted for my MiL. It's the Hipknits Aran Silk in Surf.

It's Eva in colour siren :)

Busy Day!

Finished my sister's scarf in Dee's OOW yarn that came before Christmas. She chose the pattern.

Can't you just tell I had a day off and got to spend it at home with no visitors!

I was Tagged

Okay Kay Anne tagged me before Christmas and I've got to write 6 weird things about myself.

1. I like to eat Toast with Peanut Butter and Picalilli on it.

2. I hate reality TV with a passion, nost people don't understand this but I want to escape the real world not live someone else's.

3. I'm a computer hardware nerd and my friends/family think that is so weird.

4. A fortune teller once told me who I would marry and it was accurate but I didn't realise until later how accurate.

5. I was once courageous enough to travel by train from London to Fuengirola on my own, the thought of doing it now gives me palpatations though.

6. I love to sit for hours in a topped up aromatherapy bath reading until I'm so wrinkled I could get a pension afterwards.

My belated Christmas present is not to tag anyone. :)

Knitz & Glitz and Lambgora

Cute sheep pencils from Knitz & Glitz, to match my sheep needles and sheep stitch markers.

A bag charm from Knitz & Glitz.

This scarf was knitted in Lambgora for a niece and decorated with Injabulo 'Westie' Buttons

Frustrated!

Despite Blue Moon's best effeorts I am still unable to access their new website. I have added Firefox, Opera, and Netscape in an effort to access the site. Turned off Firewalls, temporarily albeit and no joy. Netscape says the site doesn't exist??

Pray please for me or my Christmas present is a no no :(

Happy New Year!

I ended up knitting some items and not getting time to take pics before giving them to the intended recipients. One was a DB Cashmerino Chunky scarf for my DB and the other a spiral scarf using Dee's Cashmere, I bought before Christmas, for his wife. :)

I'm now 1/4 the way through a silk Clapotis for my Godmother which she specifically asked for. I got the silk in Kerrie's Hipknits Sale before Christmas too. I never got started on a sock, yet! BUT my email from Blue Moon came in this morning so no excuse when it arrives, though I've not been able to access their site yet either, must be a lot of traffic on it :)

I wish all those I feel lucky enough to share my blog with a Happy and Prosperous New Year, many more of them, and a better year than last year for you all.

Another finished knit and book

This book arrived today.

I knitted this Crystal Palace bag as a present for an aunt. She's not into handbags but this is more of a shopper or beach bag. :)

New Book arrived today.......

Well my Posh Yarns order from last week arrived today. Also in the post was a much coveted Book Knitting Nature by Norah Gaughan. I would love to knit almost everything in this book. I'll try some of it, eventurally. :)

How Is Your Inner Child?

Your Inner Child Is Naughty

Like a child, you tend to discount social rules.
It's just too much fun to break the rules!
You love trouble - and it seems that trouble loves you.
And no matter what, you refuse to grow up!

Another Cashmerino scarf

In case I've been hiding this, I love knitting with Cashmerino. I knitted this for a BiL for Christmas. The end pieces are black/silver moss stitch with Stocking stitch to wrap around the neck for softness. Again I grafted two pieces together, as if I hadn't enough to do ;) :)

RYC Lux scarf

I was using this pattern to knit a scarf for my sister's birthday on the 22nd. I wasn't sure if I would finish in time. I didn't use beads as she would hate that. Unfortunately without the beads the stocking stitch curled too much to make it wearable so I turned it inside out, and hemmed it. I also knitted the scarf in two pieces and grafted the two ends, so that the lace ends were identical. It's not quite what I was hoping for but it is a nice soft scarf. I'll stick to easier patterns in future though.

Hipknits Sale Stash

I succumbed to Kerrie's Aran Silk Sale at HipKnits. I bought 400grams of Surf for a Clapotis for my Aunt and 200grams of Lipstick for another project from Yarnforward magazine. :)

Grafting!!!!!

I've unsucessfuly tried 4 times tonight to graft another scarf which is ready, but for this. Each time I keep getting interrupted and then a mistake happens...........I'll do something else instead but oh the frustration!

Finished without grafting.

I finished this last night and it was fine without grafting. It's for my lovely baby minder for christmas.

Some more Posh Candle Flame Scarf

I knitted some more of this scarf, I intend to try decreasing this time rather than grafting it.

I also ordered some more Posh Yarns in the OOW sale. Some more Eva (colour-tranquil) and Sophia (colour-hussy) (pure cashmere). I have something in mind for my sister for the tranquil/Eva. :)

Another finished knit

I had knit this ages ago with SWTC Karaoke Bloom. I bought it in the clearout sale at Stash Yarns. It isn't as soft as Karaoke Mermaid, strangely, when knitted but the pompoms are very soft. I was originally going to knit i-cord circles to decorate the ends but I was short for time and also thought the pompoms would be softer. They are. I made the pompoms last night and sewed them on this evening. Voila!

Posh Yarn's Eva Candle Flame Scarf

This used one skein of 12 ply Eva (a cashmere/silk blend) from Posh Yarns to knit, so far. I have 4 skeins in total. It is like butter it is so soft.

More pics to follow.............

New Stash .........again!

I finally got my Rowan Soft Baby, the DK sub sent instead of it, and the Cashmerino Chunky I was waiting on. I also got some new books (Sensational knitted socks and Louisa Harding's Hats, Gloves and Scarves) and georgeous new knitting needles and stitch markers. The sheep needles are for me and the cat needles for my big sister who loves knitting as much as I do and adores cats.

Sideways scarf for Nephew

I knitted this for a 14 year old nephew. I like the fashionable 'sideways' scarves in the shops now, but they are knitted in nasty acrylic. This is in Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Aran. It was one of the nicest/easiest scarves I have knitted recently. I hope he likes it.

Some detail.

Wristbands for nephews

My son and nephews asked

for Man United wristbands
instead of scarves or hats.
I couldn't find a pattern
anywhere so I made it up.
This first one was more of an experiment than anything else but it worked out well.

DB Baby Cashmerino Arglye Vest

A litte detail.

All done, blocking worked a treat Kay Anne, now just to add buttons.

For my Godson

I knitted this my little Godson, he's a big 16 month old (the same size as my 2 year old who is a little fairy child), so I knitted it in the biggest size. I had bought the yarn originally to knit Sherwood but when I got DB Baby Cashmerino book 2 I knew I would be using it for this.

Kay Anne advised me to block it before finishing etc so that the 2 colour work will look as good as is possible :)

Socks that Rock Club 2007

DH has very nicely agreed to give me this as my Christmas present, so long as he gets a pair of socks, I hope he doesn't regret this wish though.

Blog rolling

Well I finally got my head around this and have posted a list of all the blogs that I read at least once a week. They are in alphabetical order rather than in the order of frequency they are read. I hope anyone reading the list finds a new site they enjoy as much as I do :)

New Stash.........

I succumbed to Posh Yarns new Cashmere/silk yarn Eva. It is so soft with a lovely sheen. I can't wait to knit with it but have to wait until my Christmas knits are done.
I'll post a picture when I've finished knitting with it. :)

Silkwood Contessa Scarf

I knitted this scarf in Silkwood Contessa, a silky soft thick thin wool like Colinette's Point 5. I use Colinette's Poppy pattern from Artyfacts. Another Christmas present.

Socks that rock yarn # Rocktober

I finally succumbed to sending for some of this most coveted yarn. I wanted to see if it was worth all the adulation I read in other blogs. It is very soft for 100%wool and the colours are fabulous. I'm such a sucker for colour. Now to settle down after my christmas knits and actually try socks. I'm a sock virgin unfortunately but I know a group of excellant knitters who will egg me on and provide and needed help, thank the lord :)

more scarves

This scarf is knitted in plain black Debbie Bliss Superchunky. It's like butter soft. I will hate giving these up but they are presents :)

This scarf is also knitted in DB cashmerino but superchunky this time. The pattern is from Out of Town and I chose different colours than in the book.

Scarves knitted for Christmas

One of several scarves knitted as Christmas presents. This one is knitted in 3 shades of Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Aran. It is very long and soft.

Desert Flower Clapotis

I finally finished this. It took almost 4 skeins of Lion and Lamb. It is so so soft.

latest miniclap

I knitted this in DB baby cashmerino, it is lovely and soft and long. I added a Debbie Bliss Hand Knit label as it's a present for my MiL' s birthday.
