Stage 1 of bag lining.............
The bag has been turned inside out, plastic reinforcement added to the sides and base and then the reinforcement stitched in place. I have shown the lining pinned in reverse onto the bag turned inside out before sewing. I'm hoping to add a pocket for a phone etc. More tomorrow. :)

How nice to see your step-by-step working of the lining! It's good to see how others do these "simple" things...and in all the bags I've lined, it has never occurred to me to turn the bag inside out. It is obvious now that it's much easier that way. Thank you.
Catching up on overdue blog reading and I'm really loving this bag! So nice and bobbly! Great decision on the handles and the lining work is looking super! Actually it was doing felted bags that really got me into knitting and so there's certainly a tender spot in my heart for 'em. Yours is gorgeous!
The bag looks fab!! Can´t wait to see it finished! How smart to make an pocket for mobilephone.... I forgot that on my Fair Isle bag that I´ve made :(
The socks looks great too, I like the color!
Socks are lovely, the colour is fab. Lining a bag, I have a very generous mother to do mine!! Very Lazy but it stretches my patience too far.
I'm learning as I do this and I may not do it with every bag I make but I'm getting very fond of this bag as I go along the process. :)
Thanks for showing progress pics Gil as I have yet to do this. Interested to hear about the plastic reinforcements - not heard of that before. What did you use btw? :)
So smart to turn the bag inside out! I've never thought of that! I really love the bag--I've seen similar patterns I think. Are the bobbles attached after the body of the bag is knit, or do you do them along the way? Can't wait to see the finished product.
Thanks. :)
The bobbles are knitted with the bag. I learnt the technique doing the B4 bag. I had no pattern for this bag but I used the 'bump' from the B4 bag at the base of the bag as well as the bobbles. :)
Thank you so much for this blog post! I got here via a Ravelry thread. The picture was exactly what I needed to visualize how to transform a 2-d piece of fabric into something 3-d resembling the inside of my bag! I felted a small free form bag and was having trouble lining it... but no longer! I will post my pics on Ravelry in the hopes that I too can help someone out. :) Thanks!
