This parcel arrived on the 21st December after a very hard day work and home. It was Manna from heaven indeed. :) The Yarn is The Knittery Merino Cashmere Sock Yarn specially dyed to make socks named Anna Karenina. A stunning pattern indeed. I love my parcel Alice.
This was the sock bag I received, it is a beautiful bag handcrafted by Jennalou. I love it.
There were other georgeous extras, chocolate which I ate immediately and a snazzy tree decoration which my 3 year old ran off with immediately to hang on the tree. The pattern is a beautiful fairisle pattern by Jane Lithgow. There was also a copy of The Anna Karenina Audiobook which Jane listened to while creating the pattern. A real Humdinger Parcel Alice, even though I only went for Bells and Whistles :) Thanks.

A little scarf...........................at last
Only a little knitting done over the holidays, friends, family and entertaining the children come first, and the catering which I love doing. I would love a job cooking for people who love food :)
I did finish this on Christmas Night. In time for her visit on the following day. :)
It took one skein of Posh Yarn Eva in total, but it is only a little neck scarf, not a full one. :)

Slipping in a little knitting now and then........
I knitted my first Fetching, one down.........I have been experimenting with the Evolution I got from Socktopus and trying patterns for Wrist/mits using the yarn which is very soft and silky. I also have been tinkering with a sock pattern using it for my little ones etc. :)
I have received some yarn purchases from Jannette's Rare Yarns for future projects, some Cashmerino Aran for more Fetchings and some Chunky to knit Buttony which Terri inspired me to try :)
I am almost finished this for my sister's Birthday which was yesterday, I originally bought Knitspot's Little Scarf pattern but my lace skills were not up to the short time frame I had to do this and as you can see this simple pattern isn't done yet either! It will be done by Christmas definitely :D The Yarn is Posh Yarns Eva in Cumulus using 3.75mm needles.

A Silken Angel ..................................
I took part in another swap on Craftythreadsnyarn Forum. This time we swapped Christmas Decorations. I received a lovely knitted silver and white angel from Chrissy at BrightDyes. This is the angel I sent to the blogless Carolinne.
I made it from the pack of Oliver Twist Silk products I bought at the RDS. The head is a cocoon, the wings silver wire covered with a silk handkerchief, hair and cloak different fibres etc etc. Instead of glueing the bits or sewing it I used pearl topped pins to put it together so it became a recyclable Eco Angel, if Carolinne wants to recycle it that is. I have so enjoyed these monthly swaps as they have persisantly challenged me to try new things :) I look forward to next years challenges :) First up is a Dishcloth swap, great to start spring cleaning with? :)

A little something........
I had ordered some yarn from Kerrie at Hipknits in the sale and I received it yesterday along with a 'little present', 50 grams of Chunky Cashmere. I was very taken with the feel of the yarn and was compelled into knitting something with it. What to knit? I couldn't find a pattern so I made it up as I went along.....
Here is the result: A little Neckwarmer.
You can see just how little waste there is. And the scarf is so buttery soft. Luxury around the neck. Thank you Kerrie!!!

A week's worth!!
I have been working very hard this week and last, putting in extra hours. And the light here is appalling. I had to wait until today to photograph a lot of these yarns and WiPs. I guess if this keeps up I will only get to post once a week for a while! I hope not. At least snow gives off wonderful light when it comes!! :)
This arrived during the week, one of a large order of Socks that Rock using my 10% off coupon, a bonus gift in the Rockin sock Club this year. :)
I received this from Chrissy of BrightDyes in a CraftyThreads Christmas Decoration swap. :)
This yarn arrived from the Hipknits sale. Silk/Cashmere sock yarn in Seaweed.
A scarf for my sister for her pre Christmas Birthday (she is the Big 40 this year)
Pattern is Haven and yarn is Posh Eva (silk/cashmere 4ply) Colour Cumulous using 3.75mm needles.

Where is all the light these days??
These days getting a good well lit picture is so dependant on me being at home in the morning, after lunch it is really dark here! Is is just rainy/cloudy N Ireland or is anyone else feeling SAD?
One on my latest projects is The Basic Black Cardigan by Glenna C. I'm knitting mine in Rowan Wool Cotton in discontinued Moonstone. I was helped out by a fellow Blogless Raveller Marly in getting enough to be able to complete this eventually. Thank you!
