Swaps, Friends and PIF

I was at the post office today and posted 6 parcels, 3 swaps parcels and 3 PIF gifts (posted later than I had hoped but gone nonetheless) :D When I got home there were 2 parcels waiting for me. :)

The first parcel held a swap skein of delectable handspun BFL bulky yarn, handpainted too. Isn't it georgeous!!! My pictures do not do it real justice. lilcoley is obviously a master at this :)

Spring Fling

The yarn feels like cotton wool to touch but with a silkiness too:)

The second parcel held this exquisite hand crafted bag in Amy Butler fabric. This is the second bag I received in a swap from CJ. Isn't she really talented? I wish she would set up shop!! And I'm not the only one who wishes that. Can you believe she is fairly new to sewing machines. I can't tell from the bags.......

I hope all those who were sent parcels today receive them quickly :) I enjoyed doing them but I forgot to put in the little cards I wrote for the PIFs and Swaps..............duh! I remembered after I had used up all the cellotape!

Another finished pair of socks

Another finished item!! These are another pair of the Evolution Ribbed Socks. This colourway is called Flamingo Sunrise and they are for my Aunt/Godmother who is just back for a long holiday. They are a really quick knit and I've ordred a few more different colours from Alice at Socktopus to knit up some more. They will make quick but lovely presents :)

I love the small pooled areas in the middles :)

At long last!!

I finished my Sursa last week, I started it 2 years ago. I needed proper light to take a picture of it and we had a lovely sunny day today. I eventually gave up on getting the green Cash Iroho, but finally settled on this pink from This is Knit.

These seem like the slowest socks ever...........I need to finish them..........

Back to knitting!! :)

SkeinQueen Pron.............

"The Skein Queen has been busy in her royal workshop producing magnificent hand dyed yarns". And these are just some of the lovely yarns she has produced. I got 2 skeins of Plushness (A lambswool/Angora/Cashmere blend of thick 4-ply) and a skein of Lavish (Silk/Cashmere blend). I just love them!!!

Maverick's Choice in Plushness

Old Roses in Plushness

Fragrant Stocks in Lavish

Posh Tuesday.................................

I was lucky in Sunday's sale! My yarn arrived yesterday and this was in it, I'm over the moon. It is really fabulous, vibrant and still silky soft as bamboo can be. :) I love it!!

What do you think? Too beautiful to knit with? ? ?

more yarn..............................

This was Saturday's delivery of yarn.

Some Plushness from SkeinQueen in Lalique and Faded Roses. I think more No Purl Monkeys for these. After all a pair a day would be heaven. :)

Lalique

Faded Roses

I also succumbed to some Calmer from Jannette's Rare yarns. I have several knits in my queue in Ravelry for this, so now to chose one.

The Traveller Case

This was made by the lovely Zonda for me. It is georgeous!! Thank you I love it. :)

The fabric is beautiful!

Opened up a little
and some more........places for straights, circs, dpns and interchangeables..........
And here's the dinky little pocket and pretty clasp :) I'm very lucky :D

Evolution Socks....................pattern now available

A sock pattern specifically for Evolution yarn. This ribbed pattern helps these socks hold their shape and stay on/up. Evolution is a beautiful yarn but not as stretchy as other wool sock yarns so needs a rib to compensate. I really love this yarn, and it is very hard to believe touching it that it is wool because of the special process applied to it.

I finally got around to writing this pattern up properly and putting it on PDF. Sussexyorkie knitted 2 pairs and they can be seen here and here. She is a much neater knitter than I am and has used Figgy Pudding and Black Cherries colourways. I am also knitting a pair in Flamingo Sunrise. My aunt has ordered another pair too. If there is any problem with the pattern please let me know and I will try to fix it :) Click on the socks to download, it's free.

Stashing.......................................

A number of parcels arrived this week. I got 4 Phildar catalogues of knitting patterns, one in French as they had run out of the english one, but I have some french and will be able to use the other catalogues as 'codebooks' to translate :) I hope.

The first yarn parcel was from Dee at Posh Yarns.

Posh Yarns Eva 4ply in Peacock

Posh Yarns Eva in Willow.
The 2nd yarn parcel was from Alice at Socktopus, this lucky girl is going to sock camp!

Handmaiden Casbah in Nova Scotia for socks.

Chameleon Colorworks Evolution in Cobalt Blue

Mountains in the Moonlight by Indigo Moon

The 3rd yarn parcel was from a fellow raveler who helped me out a lot, thanks :)

Remember I wanted the yarn for this, well it's here double quick, 14 skeins of Urban Silk. Yummy!! :)

The 5th yarn parcel was this:

some 100% aran wool I bought for felting from New Lanark Mills. It was less than £1 per 50grams! I am keen to see how it felts. I t feels like Rowanspun Aran which felts beautifully.

I now need more furniture to store this all......................if only I didn't see so much lovely yarn and have such desire to knit the lovely patterns out there!!
