"It's so green"

Bella Swan in Twilight complains that Forks is so green compared to Phoenix. I'm not complaining that these are too green, not at all. The intense golden green reminds me of thick moss on logs below the tree canopy of damp dark forests, beautiful.

Embossed Leaves socks from Favorite Socks Book

Closeup shows the beautiful stitch definition the Bugga yarn gives while being so soft due to 20% cashmere content.........................wonderful!!

Bella finished....................

I finished it today!!! Bella from Amber by Kim Hargreaves in Rowan Big Wool: Mulberry. No one to take a posed picture at the moment, so the hanger had to suffice. I'm not up to mirror shots today :)

Not a great picture but a FO none the less

Excuse the plumbing/mirror etc!!! It is hard to get a picture in the evening but harder if it is of yourself!

I wore it all day today and love it! Not too warm but cosy for November! :)

Ravelympics WIP Wrestling.............one down and out!!

I started this in January 08 and have been very slow at knitting it. I added it to my WIP Wrestling list on Ravelympics to urge me on in finishing it. :) The pattern is Haven by Kim Hargreaves from Heartfelt - The Darkhouse collection. The yarn is Hipknits Cashmere Silk - 4 ply (1 skein) and knitted with 3.75mm needles. It is lovely and soft and the recipient ( my wonderful Godmother) will finally get it next weekend :)

Now to try and get some more of this yarn :)

Summer of Socks 2008 ONE

The first pair of socks for Summer of Socks are knitted in Sunshine Yarns Sportweight: Field of Flowers. I used 2.75mm needles and knitted a plain sock and tried a Eye of Partridge Heel for the first time ever. I think it really suited this particular yarn :)

Eye of Partridge Heel detail, perfect with this particular yarn :)

My sister-in-law bagged these when she saw me knitting them early on. It was her Birthday so why not :)

Another finished pair of socks

Another finished item!! These are another pair of the Evolution Ribbed Socks. This colourway is called Flamingo Sunrise and they are for my Aunt/Godmother who is just back for a long holiday. They are a really quick knit and I've ordred a few more different colours from Alice at Socktopus to knit up some more. They will make quick but lovely presents :)

I love the small pooled areas in the middles :)

At long last!!

I finished my Sursa last week, I started it 2 years ago. I needed proper light to take a picture of it and we had a lovely sunny day today. I eventually gave up on getting the green Cash Iroho, but finally settled on this pink from This is Knit.

These seem like the slowest socks ever...........I need to finish them..........

Back to knitting!! :)

March socks.............................

I finally grafted the last toe last night. The new wooden blockers are lovely. They are the second 'extra' in the Socktopus Bells and Whistles Sock Club. There is a lovely cut-out motif of a ball of yarn and needles, thank you Alice.

The socks are No Purl Monkeys in Posh Yarns Emily ~ Pomegranate. Dpns 2.75mm and a 14 stitch pattern instead of 16 stitches. The cuff is a 2x2 rib instead of twisted rib. I just think it suits the yarn better. :)

I also finished the first of another pair of No Purl Monkeys in Fiesta Baby Boomerang ~ Rainforest. Dpns 2.5mm and a full 16 stitch pattern. This sock also has a 2x2 rib cuff. :) I really like this yarn, it is sleek and well twisted, a bit like STR or Jitterbug. As you can see, no pooling either. I got the yarn from The Loopy Ewe.
One more sock to go and then to cast on for my Monkey Sock Swap 4 socks. :)

At last a Finished Item!

I recently posted photographs of lovely pink cashmere yarn from Hipknits. Well this experiment with a new technique resulted in this ruffle scarf. Light enough for spring but still soft and warm. I will need to test knit the pattern but then hope to write it up. :) Do you like it?

Being knit................

I have cast on for another pair of Monkeys, this time in Wollmeise Paul Sockenwolle.

2 more FOs....................................

I have finished 2 more items. These are 2 pair of socks for my 3 year old (my biggest fan of my socks BTW). The first one is a pattern I wrote myself to suit the yarn and foot size. The Yarn is Chameleon Colorworks Evolution in Figgy Pudding given to me by the lovely Piglottie and bought at Socktopus. I started this over the Holidays and like the feel of the yarn so much now that I ordered more for a pair for myself. I will try toe-up for these, I think as the skeins are only 154yds albeit in Sportweight. :) Both these items count towards SAM5 and Sock Yarn Project 2008 on CraftythreadsnYarn. :) A few more WiPs finished and I can start something new :D

Micro Monkeys in Interlacements Tiny Toes: Grape Harvest, size UK size 7 (child)

I am imposing a finish some of the long standing WiPs before any new major knits are started as I am running out of project bags to keep them in....................................we will see how long this lasts.
