More Socks that Rock on it's way..............

I loved the STR yarn so much that I ordered these. My Rockin Sock Club will come in a few weeks but I have withdrawal symptoms already. I'm knitting some Opal socks for DH and in comparison it feels like old rope! I wonder if I am spoiled for other yarns?? If any reader has knit with STR and found other sock yarn that compares favourably do please let me know. I would hate to miss out on another great yarn through ignorance. :D

They are such gorgeous colours!!!! Can't help on the yarn though I've only used Opal, and Lorna's Laces (LL is lovely, Opal is utility!!!!!)

You asked about Claudia handpaint - well it is soft, but it is 2-ply so doesnt have the "spring" of STR. I have not yet tried Fleece Artist merino - but photos suggest it is 2-ply too. Piece of Beauty is the nearest thing I have found ;) and you know all about that! Oh - and Poshyarn cashmere / merino mix is a close thing too! Have you seen Fleece Artist has produced Sea Wool sock? See Cookie's blog for a delicious photo!http://www.knitanon.com/blog/

Gil! You are not helping me resist STR. I think an order will be imminent but first need to check out the Fleece Artist :)

PS: Am so glad to have found someone else who buys as much, if not more, sock yarn as me!

Piglottie I simply can't resist all that loveliness, :)

I'm thinking of the Eva for the Forest Canopy Shawl. :)

Fleece Artist merino, I've found, does compare pretty well to STR (and comes in absolutely gorgeous colourways, too)... it's squishyspringysoft, and it's absolutely divine after a bath.

Thanks so much for that Kay. I'll buy some in the next purchase. I simply mustn't buy any more this week! :)
